Passly support

Help with the Passly app for learner drivers and driving instructors. Most answers are below, and our team reads every message.

Contact support

Tell us what's happening and we'll get back to you by email, usually within one working day.

If you're reporting a problem in the app, it helps to include your device (for example iPhone 15 or iPad Air), the screen you were on, and what you expected to happen.

Common questions

I can't sign in to the app.

The quickest way in is a one-time code. On the sign-in screen choose Email me a code, enter the email address you signed up with, then type the 6 digit code we send you. If it doesn't arrive within a minute, check your spam or junk folder before requesting a new one, and always use the code from the newest email, since older codes expire. You can also sign in with your password instead, and reset it from the sign-in screen if you've forgotten it.

How do I book a lesson?

Open the Diary or Lessons tab and tap Book a lesson, then pick a free slot in your instructor's availability. You'll see the date, time, duration and price before you confirm. Your instructor is notified as soon as the booking goes through, and the lesson then appears in your upcoming lessons.

How do I cancel or reschedule a lesson?

Open the lesson from your Lessons tab and choose to cancel. Cancellation terms are set by your instructor, so check their notice period before you cancel, since a late cancellation may still be charged. To move a lesson, cancel it and book a new slot, or message your instructor directly and they can move it for you.

How do payments and credits work?

Learners pay for lessons or top up their lesson credit balance. Credits are then spent automatically when lessons are booked or completed, so there's nothing to hand over at the roadside. Card payments are handled by Stripe, and Passly never stores your card details.

I've been charged and something looks wrong.

Contact us using the form on this page with the date and amount of the payment and we'll look into it. Refunds for individual lessons are agreed with your driving instructor, since they set their own lesson prices and cancellation terms.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Settings, scroll to the bottom and choose Delete account, then confirm. This permanently deletes your Passly account and personal data. Deleting an account can't be undone, and any unused lesson credit should be settled with your instructor first.

I'm not getting notifications.

Check that notifications are allowed for Passly in your device settings, under Notifications, then Passly. On iOS you'll also need Allow Notifications turned on. If they're already allowed, sign out and back in to refresh the app's notification registration, and if it still doesn't work, get in touch.

Which devices does Passly work on?

Passly runs on iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 16.4 or later. If the app crashes or won't open on your device, please contact us with the device model and OS version so we can reproduce it and fix it.

I'm a driving instructor. How do I get started?

Create an instructor account in the app, add your lesson types and prices, then set your availability so learners can book. You can add existing pupils yourself, and manage your diary, payments and pupil progress from the app or the web app.
